This is my latest assignment for my Art course....taken me a while to get this one done, what with two bugs...Flu and sickness (nice!), Christmas and New Year, two jobs and life in general :) This house, The Bishops House, dates back to around 1500, so the warped frames and windows are meant to be like that! Hope you like, critiques greatly appreciated before I send it in for appraisal! Ps. Thanks Jen B for straightening out the image for me!! Acrylics on 20x16" 140gsm Artists Canvas Paper...let's hope I get another "D", lol!!

A Twist Of Lemon (Tribute to Alex) by Natalie Mason

on 28x24x1.5" Exhibition Canvas...this is the sister painting to "Peaches & Cream". Dedicated to Alex, for his continuous help...thank you my friend :) Only two colours (and I use that term loosely, as B&W aren't colours!) were used....Ivory Black, and Titanium White for a very monochromatic feel. The background is heavily textured (using a half litre of paint on the background alone) to create and interesting back drop for the smoothness of the female form. Apologies for the censoring, but that's the rules!!

28x24x1.5" Exhibition Style Canvas, this monochrome piece was created with just Ivory Black and Titanium White. Two coats of semi-gloss varnish enhance and protect. As you may be able to see, the background is very heavily textured (palette knife app) with over half a litre of paint on the background alone, to give a strong contrast against the smoothness of the female form. This piece is the sister painting to the one entitled "A Twist of Lemon"..which will be uploaded soon. Please excuse the CENSORING of her derriere...needed to conform with AW rules I'm afraid. I hope you enjoy!

Another sketch for an assignment...never thought I'd spend so much time studying and drawing scissors!! Am actually very excited about this, as this course is certainly helping me brush up on my drawing skills (which had become VERY rusty!), and am relearning techniques not used for so long.
