Be careful of yellows and oranges. The yellow kind of shocked my eyes a bit... But then when I got use to seeing it all was better. Maybe that was your plan... I like where you are going with this painting .. loose... Remember to be consistent the mothers hair, face and flower flows with the painting. the pink areas should have more yellow/ oranges to continue the flow.. the little girls face and hands would look better if similar to moms coloring.

I like the colours of your painting. Go on.

The colours are good but the figures are less than great. If they were meant to be like this I will say fine and leave it at that. I am not a real fan of Primitive Art. If not then I would suggest that a Life Drawing course might be in order.

The main thing to always remember is, everyone has their own style of doing artwork. Your style is yours and no one else draws or paints exactly like you do. Does it make you happy? That's all that matters. Your colors are excellent. It looks bright and cheerful. It is a mother and daughter sharing a great moment in time; memories and love.

I know that you are capable of doing fine portraits as witnessed by your painting titled "Bigouden"-however this work does not show the same sensitivity of proportion and the use of light and shadow in my opinion. I realize that the purpose of this piece is different and that you are experimenting with color- which is totally acceptable. Using loud colors in portraits really can work- google Francoise Nielly for some fine examples. Keep up the experiments!
