Protecting your artwork

Anyone have any suggestions for protecting artwork, physically that is. I have been using things like newspaper and plastic bags and inevitably something gets dinged up when I am searching for a piece or transporting or something. Was thinking of ordering some clear plastic sleeves, but since there is no cushioning, i did not know how well that would work. Just wondering what other people do to solve this problem.

what kind of artwork do you have? plastic is not good for certain things due to the inability for a material to breathe. you can buy corner protectors...i always use fabric between my canvases and stack back to back when possible.

i have nothing in glass,,,that would make me nervous. professional packers use newsprint

Thanks for replying Marlene. I have mostly acrylic paintings on canvas and masonite. Most of them are framed. I also have some framed photography under glass. I'm still experimenting. I'm trying bubble wrap mailers and stacking them upright and not sealing the tops. I like the plastic sleeves because i can see what is inside, but don't know how well they protect and as you say breathability may be a problem
