Keep at it, as a self taught oil painter except for some high school art classes I keep at it because painting brings me joy and reduces the daily stresses. I like your drawing very much and hope you list more here in future.

First don’t put your art on the shelf so to speak. I stopped doing art for 20 years and wished I would have keep doing art of any kind. Off topic a bit sorry…. I was looking at your picture and took a quick peek at your portfolio. And the question arises what would happen if you used water color on wet/damp paper…. I see you like color , if you start with the faintest of color to set your layout then continue to think in layers, slightly darker colors many layers keeping in mind you can darken but not lighten so use the darkest dark to be your final detail. I think you will have fun especially if you paint another picture like this one the trees and grass will be a lot of fun?. If not water colors try black and white with a lot of shading experiment with depth. As a self taught artist you are off to a great start. I am also self taught and currently working with cement and using stain and pigments. As an artist I have drawn a lot painted a few and now find myself working with mud…. As an artist you will find what works for you keep creating.
