flamingpear has twistedbrush & try photo editing programs with unique brushes or effects.

artrage artweaver project dogwaffle

These and others like from alienware can be found by doing a search for their products. Also, you can add much to your existing programs if you can import brushes, effects, etc. I like Corel art programs best, most of my work is done with Painter which gets updated frequently. I use a Wacom tablet and you can get best resuls with electronic drawing tablets versus a mouse.

Hi there i have and used the software Pixelmator for my photo rendering and editing and to boot it has a free 30 day use of the software. Just so you know I ended up buying the software myself and didn't have a lot to spend so it was perfect for me. If price is not an issue then depending on your OS *mine is iMac G5* then go with something else recommended. This software it isn't that expensive compared to some of the photo editing software $59.00. *smile*. Here is a link for you to the software. http://www.pixelmator.com/

happy editing~ ~e

Piknic has lots of fun effects and is a free download. I don't know if you'd consider it a "fine art work application" though, but it's free - what do you have to lose?

There is no substitute for good software. I also think Adobe Photoshop is the best. Adobe Illustrator also has its merits.

I'm a Corel user since the DOS version and LOVE IT... consider ebay for older versions that people are selling - to get yourself started. I also use adobe products but my fav is Corel with my waacom pen...

I use a program called The Gimp. Free, open source. Very full-featured.
