critique on my fairy artwork :)

Hello everyone,

Well, I am a fantasy artist but I mostly specialize in dragon realted artwork and other fantasy creatures such as unicorns and so on as well as regular animals. I have never really have the drive to want to paint a human or anything humanoid untill recently.

I just got a book about painting fairies with watercolor and it has been a good inspiration and referance tool. I went through a small fairy painting craze and just wanted peoples thoughts. Im posting three images here of my latest ones.

I know anatomy is one issue, but id just like peoples thoughts in general, whatever it might be, just please if your going to critique do it in a consrutive manner, anything that needs to be improved upon can be said in a positive manner.

Thanks!

Edit:

I also just wanted to say that there are some examples of some of my older fairy art attemps in my gallery under "misc" incase anyone wanted to take a peek and see how I have improved with that.

I would like to check out the watercolor book! What is it called? I am not very good at watercolors, and would love to learn how to use it properly with fantasy art. Thanks much...your faes are adorable

Terrell,

The book is called "Watercolor Fairies: A Step-By-Step Guide To Creating The Fairy World"

Its a great book, look for it on the Barns and Nobel site. Or you can buy it directly from one of the artists whos artwork was featured in it, her name is Meredith Dillman.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragment.

I just wanted to note that when I said "please if your going to critique do it in a consrutive manner, anything that needs to be improved upon can be said in a positive manner" in my original post I didnt mean that I didnt only want to here positive things, I do want to hear your thoughts on anything I could imporve on, please I encourage a heavy critique.

But I will continue to keep up the good work, thanks :)

I love fairies and think you did a great job. Although there is something that bothers me about the first one. I think it's the wings, the color is too close to the color of the trees. All in all I find your paintings very mystical.

Karen,

Thank you very much for your thoughts. Maybe I should have kept the leaves a bit more faint and crackly, looking like fall leaves. I think your right about that, next time Ill referance more fallen leaves.
