Throwback: a person, thing, or style that reminds you of an earlier time. It can also mean a return to an older way of doing things, or a biological trait from an old ancestor. I've been preoccupied with my 3D piece and though I'd done a drawing or two this evening, I knew they'd be too late finishing tonight. This piece, and several others, have been sitting near my scanner for some weeks. I picked this one up but noticed that, even though it dates from just a couple of weeks back, it seems a throwback when compared to my last few drawings. It is defined as a sudden, intense realization where a person confronts deep questions about human life, including freedom, meaninglessness, and mortality. It usually makes one feel very small in the vastness of the universe and quite helpless. I think everyone should work one of these into their work week to maintain balance. The poet's lament is a literary expression of deep grief, sorrow, or regret, frequently focusing on personal loss, worldly hardships, or environmental destruction. I think I wrote a poem with that title way back in my youth. My only writing presently are these short blurbs I scribble with each graphic upload. Clint always seemed to be squinting in his close-ups, making me wonder if he didn't need glasses or the director had a vicious streak and always shot him facing the sun. I guess his wearing glasses in those Westerns would have been a bit off-putting. Of course, this character is that 'character's' anti-thesis. He doesn't carry any weaponry, save for his brain. I hope these photos are good enough. The sun was none too bright in my backyard. This is my tribute to 250 years and the fact that this was probably the most lackluster celebration in recent memory. I used my custom compound, cardboard, Styrofoam and newsprint. I painted the fractured gal with acrylics. It measures 11 inches tall, including base, and 8.25 inches wide from orange tip to orange tip. There are 13 shards of glass running down the nose, representing the original 13 colonies. Original Jones Art wonders what those colonists would think if they could get a look at these so-united states in the 21st Century. Yeah, he's still in northwest Austin, Texas.

I finished this piece in January of 2026 but just took some photos yesterday. I used my custom compound, newsprint, cardboard, Styrofoam and some elbow grease, as my dad used to say. Acrylics were used in the final stage. Toxic Beauty is 22 inches high, 7.75 inches wide and 5 inches deep. It's what Original Jones Art calls Original Jones Art here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Skepticism is a learned behavior usually reinforced by others' behavior over time. One either walks single-file into the slaughterhouse obediently or looks for an alternate route.
