Faroe Islands

The Islands are more green than one can imagine, it just above the limit for trees, so it is grass, small flowers, basalt rocks, houses and very nice and friendly people, who speaks my native language, danish perfectly, faroe language is almost impossible for me to understand but I will try

A wonderful watercolor sketch, Steen! The shape of the hill is so interesting... do you think it was once a volcano?

Artist Reply: It is what is left from a lava covered plateau 30-60 mill years ago, now it is eroded down to these few (18) islands, by rain and sun, the floor covered a huge area from England to Greenland, the Schetland islands are part of the same floor too, I think, the same is happening on Iceland to day, just in much larger scale then:)
