Summer Garden

24" x 24" Acrylic on hand stretched, gallery wrapped canvas. Gardens, like this one fashioned after my Gram's, were a given during the days of my growing up. Gram had one, Mom had one, all the Aunts etc. had one. They compared notes and seeds and clippings and bulbs. As an adult, I don't see this as much and it saddens me to think that gardens have lost some importance, much like family reunions, and Christmas Traditions. I WILL have a garden when we retire..one that I can share the seeds and bulbs from. Consider the instant reasons for keeping in touch with those family members and friends who shared with you, and you with them..."How are those bulbs coming up?" We need more reasons to stay close, not only with each other but with the soil.

I CAN HEAR MY TEACHER OF MANY YEARS AGO. NO PRETTY PICTURE IN THIS CLASS. I AGREE THAT TRADITION IS PRICELESS, BUT EACH GENERATION MUST ADD SOMETHING THAT IS THEIR'S. I DON'T SEE YOU HERE. TECNIQUE IS BEAUTIFUL
