Gram had one, Mom had one, all the Aunts etc. had one. They compared notes and seeds and clippings and bulbs. As an adult, I don't see this as much and it saddens me to think that gardens have lost some importance, much like family reunions, and Christmas Traditions. I WILL have a garden when we retire..one that I can share the seeds and bulbs from. Consider the instant reasons for keeping in touch with those family members and friends who shared with you, and you with them..."How are those bulbs coming up?" We need more reasons to stay close, not only with each other but with the soil.
