Mona Lisa

I created this back when I was painting in the public eye. An older gentleman used to stop by my space and watch me work. One day he showed up with an old black and white photo of his wife which he wanted done in color. At that time she was in her 70's, had alzheimers and the painting was a gift for her. He stopped by many times to see the progress and dubbed the painting ,'The Mona Lisa'. When he presented his wife with the painting, she sent him back with a home made bottle of very sweet wine which even though undrinkable will always stand out in my mind as a pleasure moment. She passed away about a year later and I always felt grateful for being able to create some happiness for her.
