When I was in college--stuck in the city and miserable with nary a flower in sight, my sister unexpectedly gave me a watering can for my birthday. It was like a light coming on--a breath of flower-scented air. I remembered how much I hated asphalt and how much I loved to dig in the dirt. That perhaps a fast-paced career that would leave me trapped in some high rise wasn't for me afterall...... To this day, two thousand miles away and out in the boonies, I still use that same can--oh sure the handy little sprinkle head is long gone (buried beneath years of sand box play if I had to guess)--but it still works every spring when I put my flowers out. And to this day, I never take the joy of gardening for granted. Thanks Amy for reminding me of what I truly love. So technically it's her fault that I have about an acre of flower gardens out front. Good thing I have that watering can. Original 4 x 4 gallery-wrapped mini painting in the private colllection of L. Brown.
