Our Lady and the Water Tower (Gifted)

A statue of Our Lady sits atop a typical above ground burial site in Marksville, Louisiana. A watertower seems to rise from the dead in the background.

Nearly all of your work is allegorical and it's this that fascinates me. This picture is typical of that genre. The atmosphere of the painting is tense. The sun light is strong and beats down on the tombs. The water tower gives the entire canvas a surreal quality. Love it!
