Dearest David! How on earth did I miss this??? You know it's silly to say this but this a very animated church yard!!! The precise, architectural shapes suggest order and a peaceful continuity, but the grass and the trees seem to be rippling and swaying in the breeze. Van Gogh is always looking over your shoulder. Brilliant artwork!

Artist Reply: Rusty, The church yard is from the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Cane River. It was built by Augustine Metoyer, a free man of color, who lived there with the Creole community. The whole area is unique to the United States. Nicole kept this painting in her personal collection.
