Alannah

Alannah - a portrait of one of the girls in an upcoming book I'm doing the illustrations for. It is a hauntingly beautiful painting - I'm very proud of her. Alannah (in the book) is a girl who lives in an ancient cathedral, as a caretaker. She has grey swirling hair, striking grey eyes, and wings made out of stone. I have shown her standing in the cathedral with a candle in her hands and a key on a necklace around her neck. There are stained glass windows in the background, with light filtering in. The cathedral is actually based visually on one I visited on my trip to France this summer! My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
