Cretaceous Mermaid

Cretaceous Mermaid - I'm the first to admit it, I'm a big dinosaur/paleontology nerd, and made this painting for the sheer pleasure of it. The Cretaceous Period would have been a very perilous time for mermaids. Feisty mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, all the fantastic marine reptiles that I adore (yet they terrify my husband, who is creeped out by this piece, hehe!). Throwing geological science out the window for once (hey, it's FANTASY right?) I've included a gorgeous dark haired mermaid with these perilous monsters of the deep. My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
