Self Portrait in oil pastels

Most every year, on my birthday, I paint something for myself. This particular year I wasn't feeling much in the mood to immerse myself in a full sized painting, so I grabbed my sketch book and the oil pastel sticks to attack my reflection in a distant mirror. Scribbling & scratching for about an hour, I left the drawing unfinished (my eyes are hazel green). I felt much better afterwards :)

OH THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND STUNNING, TREE. PERFECT.

Artist Reply: Thanks Sharon! It's not a total likeness, but sometimes that doesn't matter so much in art if a viewer enjoys the view. :)

Beautifully done :)

Artist Reply: Hi Loredana! Thank you for commenting. It was a messy thing to do but was healing fun -- you should have seen all the colors on my hands! LOL!
