This painting represents my vision of the plight of Nimue - the Lady of the Lake - in an allegorical setting: naturally, she'd have to be mermalien. The sword she presses to her cheek is Excaliber, and the Celtic halo behind her head is rendered in pure gold leaf. Original oil on canvas, image: 36" by 24" copyright 2007 Patrick Pierson
