Morning Mass

Acrylics on paper (14 x 10ins). I painted this (and sold it quite quickly) a while ago. Religion is stilll very much a part of the daily life for many older people here and there are many who would never dream of missing morning Mass.So he they are making their way to St Patricks church in Louisburgh.

Jacki, What a wonderful painting! I especially liked the way the piece is like a pencil drawing until you see the older couple which isiin color. Could be quite a statement! Apparently it was enough to get it sold and into someones' home and on thier wall! Bernie Elliott

Artist Reply: Hi Bernie how lovely to hear from you! This is a style I work in occasionally when I fancy a change. Sometimes, when i paint in full colour, i find that I get "bogged down" trying to get everything too right and the use of monochrome helps me to focus on the elements of the painting that are more important. I'm glad you think it works. Alll the best to you my friend :o))
