Mother # 3

absku yirenkyi, 2008,40x43,mixed media. For the mother series, i based the painting of the aquaba doll( a symbol of fertility in ghanaian culture)and an image of a woman with her mouth open screaming in frustration. I made a woodcut for both of those images ang combined them to create the figure at the top left of the painting. This series is still a workin progress.
