Sea, sheep and stone walls

OK, so technically it should be "ocean" and not "sea" but I liked the alliteration! This scene is based on the views along the coast Road between Westport and Louisburgh in the wonderful county of Mayo, a route I travel so often that the images along the way are imprinted on my brain. On a gentle day, Clew Bay is often like a millpond and the outcrops and headlands are reflected in the waters and the distant peaks of Achill are a wonderful blue/gray. After a heavy storm, the rocks on the shoreline are covered in amber seaweed, a colour so rich that it almost glows. And, always, the sheep graze on the rough pastures, which are edged by the stone walls.
