This was the last one I did in a series of King Penguins. This was was a little different because it was the first painting I did on hot press watercolor paper. The paper was great, on one hand, because you could lay in very smooth pencil lines (which is how I do all my watercolor paintings). The downside is how different the paper reacts to the paint. Originally it was quite a struggle, but eventually I made it work. And it turned out quite well.
