japanese knotweed

This is a small quilted square I made in a taster workshop run at Dove Workshop in Banwen this August. We were asked to do something 'Welsh' or local that could be incorporated into a larger work of samplers to be exhibited by the University running the workshops - I chose the subject of japanese knotweed, because it is rampant in south wales and is the main plant in the hillside at the bottom of my garden. I added the fox as an afterthought, as the knotweed gives the foxes cover when they come to steal my chickens! All materials were available free on the day, so I just worked with what was there.
