Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) (2008)

Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) wrote a vast collection of brilliant and humorous works, touching on all aspects of the American psyche. He was before his time on his subtle and not so subtle condemnations of racism and imperialism, both rampant in his era. His message was couched in a brilliant wit that often made it more palatable to the general public.

I love the life and intensity in that gaze, so frank and open. Looking candidly straight out at us. (I think he was a Sagittarius like you!) Willianm Blake was too! Thirst for knowledge, eternal optimist and very honest and open minded. Hmm! I reckon that's you David. I love the way you have breathed life into this portrait and the way you've used those dynamic brushstrokes to convey the fiery, creative energy of this brilliant American author! Wonderful work!
