Osmiza

The word Osmiza comes from the slowenish "osem" meaning eight, because under Habsburg Empire farmers were allowed to sell their own wine for eight days. Not much dissimilar from wiener "heuriger", osmiza are still present on the Karst around Triest. Nowadays they open for more than eight days, and are a kind of temporary pub/restaurant often on the yard of a private house/farm where you can drink wine, eat local products, and in general enjoy company, sing and be happy :) Acrylics on canvas. 70*50 cm
