These photos were taken when I stayed on the San Blas Islands with the Cuna Indians. The first photo was taken in front of my hut which I watercolored and is in my portfolio under Panama. The Cuna Indians are a very small people. To give you an idea....I am 4' 10" tall. You can see that Iliana is shorter than I. Yes!!!! :-) The Cuna Indians live on the San Blas Islands off the Coast of Panama Atlantic side. You see the gorgeous tops that the women wear? They make them by reverse applique method, and these are works of art. So much so that many people buy them and frame them for their walls. Hope that you enjoy!
