Mad Ludwig's Castle (Neuschwanstein) 2008

Mad King Ludwig II of Bavaria used his country's treasure to build a castle instead of an army. The armies have come and gone, but his castle remains and became the inspiration for Walt Disney's castle of Sleeping Beauty. I painted this for my doctor friend, Dr. David McCoy, who removed some skin lesions. He only his his own children's art in his office, plus a small poster of this Neuschwanstein Castle. He studied medicine in German and met and married his wife there as well.

This is a sweet painting David and such an interesting history. (It's nice to see the painting of the two little Jewish boys and knowing it's hanging on our wall in the Kitchen!!! Makes an old woman very proud!!!LOL!!!
