Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture (2008)

Randy Pausch is dying from pancreatic cancer. He has inspired millions with his book, The Last Lecture. Here, he is shown, surrounded by crabs and releasing his dove of hope. As doctors, we fight against infirmity and death, but we must always be reminded that the real dignity belongs to the patient who understands his destiny and accepts it with serenity.

Beautiful work, about a beautiful person - and what a beautiful idea, David. im moved... his book has been on the shelf in the local bookstore here in cairo and though ive passed by it a zillion times, i never thought to buy it. I think i may look upon the matter a little differently now, having seen your work and read your message. Well done indeed...

How did I miss this one? It's an incredibly moving painting David. I particlularly like all the symbolism which seems to send out its own coded message to us all. Stunning work! Love from RustyXX
