Cadgwith is a very small fishing village with thatched cottages tumbling down to the sea. Here in the summer is held the Gig festival, a gig is a long narrow sea going row boat holding approx 16 people and they hold races to determine the champion crew. The painting shows 3 gig boats in the bottom right corner.
