Image Copyright © Richard Roy This shot was taken in Danvers Mass. it is of the old homestead of Rebecca Nurse whos story is among the more poignant of the Salem witchcraft tragedies. From this house this 71 year old mother of eight was dragged from her bed, tried, convicted and was hanged on Gallows Hill, (Salem Massachusetts) with four other women, July 19, 1692 for the crime of witchcraft.

Artist Reply: Thanks for the warm welcome and the kind comments about my photo. A little history about the house is that it was built in the 1600's and belonged to Rebbecah and Francis Nurse. Rebbecah was one of the condemed woman convicted of and hung for witchcraft in Salem Massachusetts. I wanted the photo to not only have a historical feel but one of strong emotion.
