In Search of NIrvana

"Come travel with me" she said "and we will find Nirvana". "How far away is it", I inquired? "It is just over the next hill" she exclaimed. And so I traveled on with my pilgrim friend. But as we crossed over each hill another appeared in the distance for us to travel over. No matter how much we walked we needed to walk more. Nirvana seemed to be just out of our reach. Hours turned into days, days into months, and months progressed into years and still this illusive goal was yet to be reached. Oddly, I never felt tired or discouraged as we traveled this road together. I began to realize how wonderful this trip was with the companionship of my friend. How wonderful I thought it is to have a friend to share this journey with. I noticed that this seemingly illusive goal of reaching Nirvana had become less and less important to me and that the journey itself had taken on a much greater importance. I was enjoying this adventure, this journey. So much was happening on this trek, this trek called life, that I began to wish that I never arrive at my illusive destination. I was experiencing so much and so much was happening that I finally concluded that "it is in the journey not the destination that I wished to be". And now it is today and it is today that you are sharing my journey with me by reading this story and viewing my little oil painting. I want to thank you for the opportunity for us to spend a little time together. I hope as you part from this moment of viewing my work that you continue to travel and to share life's journey with those you meet. It is in those moments of sharing that the real destination is to be found. visionary imagist "Joey"

Sometimes we are looking for a divine awareness that is already ours, only we are not always aware of this treasure because we are looking to far away. It is not behind the horizon, it is within our reach. You are right... it is about the shared journey which is also the goal. A very delicate painting.

Artist Reply: Gabrielle; Thank you again for your wise and insightful comments. i always enjoy your interpretations of my artwork. it is greatly appreciated by me.

very intriguing fantasy. I like the way there is a story, but I'm not quite sure what it is. A mystery. I like the way there is this lovely comfortable landscape and then this explosive event going on simultaneously.

Artist Reply: John: i revel in the mysteries of life. I appreciate your insights and comments too. thanks my friend for sharing with me.
