Punxy Phil is THE Groundhop, that awesome weather prognosticator who lives in the library in Punxytawny, PA. I moved just 6 miles from Punxy to pastor 3 UMC churches. My daughter and I went "downtown" one Friday evening to see what was happening. While walking in the park, we stumbled upon Punxy Phil. There in a "fishbowl" environment complete with plate glass window to the world was the most famous groundhog in the world. He and others were sleeping in community, so I snapped his photo. Come February 2nd that year, we were astonished at the number of people who came from many miles away to await Phil's entrance into the day.
