' ERNEST HAMLETT, ARNHEM VET '

Ernest Hamlett, went to Arnhem by a Balsa wood glider, with the Border Regt. Involved with some of the fiercest fighting around Westabowen. He ended up captured and ended up at the notorious Stalag 11b Fellingbostal. Also did part of the 1000 mile death march. The zoomed up pic is where I took the original image from, a typical 40's flat b/w photo. Hope I've done the gentleman justice an hope it works

Another great portrait, Kevin!! I think it's great that you are remembering these great heros!! :)

Artist Reply: Thanks Ruth, Off to Arnhem again on the 18th, hopefully get loads more pics of the vets. Sadly all in their 80's, so getting fewer and fewer each year. Will try and get as many as possible this year. More for the project
