'Chief Strange Horse' Upper Brule Sioux

His Indian name was Ta-semke-to-keko. Until their forced settlement onto reservations,Chief Strange Horse's people fought desperately to keep the settlers and traders from their lands. As the herds of thier respected buffalo disappeared, the Sioux's way of life permanently changed. Colored Pencil on Canson Mi-Teintes.

Hi Karen. Was this picture modelled on the actual original photograph prints obtainable from the Smithsonian Museum? I have one of these photo prints and your drawing of Chief Strange Horse is a very nice rendition. Carl (UK)
