From a Series of art and words combined. Original 8-1/2x11 ink; 2003
THE ADVENTURE STARTED when she found the
gate to the other side at the height of three-fourths of
the big fir across the road. That's when she knew she
could stay warm and find food through a winter or two.
So she perched just this side of it for a morning and an
afternoon, trying her best to explain to the woman calling
her back to ground why she needed to go.
THE ADVENTURE ENDED when she felt the hearts
waiting for her get too heavy, and came Home.
