Common to this area in northcentral Texas, are what I think of as urban ranches. Land is divided into 5 to 10 acre tracts (or more) with large, beautiful homes custom built where people may keep a few horses or longhorn cattle. It makes for a good buffer between high-density subdivisions and open country, fast disappearing.

Wow! That is a beautiful gate! The area I'm in is just like that as well! Cattle country! But, that is one intricate piece of iron work up there! Gorgeous photo of it Brenda! :)
