Preparing for the Journey

Original Size: approximately 10" x 15" This is a piece I did as a sample cover for Heavy Metal Illustrated. Their magazine focuses on more 'adult'-leaning Fantasy & Science Fiction stories. The concept I had in mind for this work is an elf babe just outside a castle-city, dressing for her journey. Whether the soldiers in the background are returning from battle, leaving the castle or just 'peeping Tom's' is left up to the viewer. Hope you like it...

Stunning rendering of this fascinating and very bold elf. I love sci/fi and fantasy and am impressed with your great technique and creative imagination. I put you on my art watch so I can see more of your wonderful journeys. There are alot of windows in the castle. I think I can see somone peering out despite the fact that it is heavlly guarded. I think most of the soldiers request to be inside the castle to enjoy the "scenary."

Artist Reply: Hahahaha! Thanks so very much, Julie! I really appreciate your kind words and the Watch...I have many high-fantasy pieces in the works and hope 2 post them soon...Thanks again and U R always welcomed to visit or ask any questions U have about my art (or art instruction...)

Ok, I am very Christian and so I'm a bit hessitant to comment on your more exposed pieces but please know that I appreciate your artistic talent no less my friend.

Artist Reply: Haha! No problem, dear lady. Thanks for the appreciation very much. I understand and respect your beliefs. As an artist, I simply view the body as art and don't look at underdressed women in a negative way...:) Most of Heavy Metal Magazine is about scantily-clad women...
