Overseer Beast

original Size: approximately 8" x 10" Medium: Pencil This is a collaboration between my brother Dario and I. He started the piece (and rendered it very well all it's own...), but he left it laying around and I decided finish it for him, and added more details to the armor, background and even including the enslaved character, as well (that character is not detailed as much to keep the focus on the beast). My brother and I envisioned this piece as more of a Science Fiction theme where a vicious, brutal dictator on a far off planet is enslaving the weaker populace. But the theme can also works into the fantasy genre, so in either form it fits. Maybe one day I will be able to convince Dario to set up an Art Wanted account so he can show more of his work. He admires my style of art a lot, as I do his work. In many ways, we have similar styles, and work together well. More of our collaborative efforts will be posted later. Hope you like it... Dario is a very good artist, but never really had a desire to pursue it any further. He admits he is a 'lazy' artist, meaning he always leave unfinished art and goes on to the next!

Great collaboration Richard the detail you put into his armor is aweosme and the captured slave is a very nice touch. I know how your brother feels about moving on to new drawings I used to be very guilty of it myself.I can't wait to see more work from the 2 of you.

Artist Reply: Thanks, Patrick! My brother comes up with some nice sketches, and I hate to see 'em just lay around. I try to accentuate what he has already done so that it looks natural and organic (as in looking like one whole piece...) I will be putting more collaborations up, and sketch designs I have done by myself very similar to this in style... :)
