Bulgarian Chruch (2007)

This Orthodox church in Bulgaria was painted from a photo provided by a Bulgarian friend, Ivan Serbezov. It is the Church of the Holy Virgin (Sveta Bogoroditza). It was built in the time of Tsar Ivan Assan II in Assenovgrad in the Rhodopi Mountains.

Hello David! How are you? Working hard I expect. Somehow, I seem to have missed this one. It's a lovely little church. Nice composition with the village in the blue distance. I like looking over the wall and imagining walking up the steps and into the church. Lovely! Brilliant artwork. Always with that special something!
