Original Size: approximately 10" x 15" This piece was done as a submission sample for DC comics of the one-and-only Man of Steel! I tried to add my own take on his overall look (hence the confident grin to his face), while maintaing all the classic features that make him who he is (square jawline, massive musculature, curl in hair, etc...)At the time in comics, Superman was killed off and "reborn" again. As a result, his hair grew longer. It guess DC was trying to 'update' his look. Well, it looked like true fans hated the change and Supes was given his original hairstyle back soon after. Incidentally, I disliked the long-haired, Superman-look myself, but since I was drawing DC'c characters, I had to add the change. Thankfully, we won't have to go through that change again...!!
