Jennie Drago and Kraslice (2006)

Mrs. Jennie Drago was the oldest of our kraslice (pysanki) makers from the Czech community of Libuse and Kolin, Louisiana. She made the eggs until she was 94, then had to stop due to illness. Such a fine lade.

Hello David! This is a lively and accomplished portrait. The bright colours and composition immediately cheered me up and I love the detail on the brilliantly coloured eggs. I like her folk costume too and the glint of humour in her twinkling brown eyes. Great work!
