Dragon Queen II

Original Size: approximately 10" x 15" This is another selection of my "Dragon Queen" series. The creature behind her is only a baby, hence it's size. I have another piece in the works with the beast fully-grown, flying above his beautiful master, but only preliminary sketches are in progress thus far. Hopefully, I'll be able to complete the final painting early 2006, but it's one of many different pieces in the works. Note of Interest: This picture was selected as the Previews Comic Guides Art of the Month.

I love the pose,if I had to guess you used a mens magazine model for a reference for her!! Don't get me wrong I love it and I do the same thing for my work.Love the detail you put into all your work!!

Artist Reply: Most appreciated! Depending on the piece, I use photo references from mens magazines and other sources, including fashion/bikini clippings. I also combine and change elements myself, so if I start with a reference, by the time I'm done it can be quite different. (Note For the last piece you commented on "Valley of Spears" there were no photo references used at all...)
