In a fantasy world, dragons are guardians. They chose whom they would protect and guard them fiercely. This dragon was born when I had reason to have contact with an 11-month old baby being investigated for sexual abuse. She was very submissive. She did not cry, and when we finished our testing she put her arms around my neck and I held her. I still feel her fingers on my neck. This is a sculpture I made to protect her. The chest the dragon protects contains personal, private and fragile things. The only way to open the chest is to destroy the dragon. Secrets, fragility, strength.
