Our son raised a raccoon from the time he hardly had his eyes open (around 5 weeks old). He was found alone at the side of the road and after backing off and waiting a good length of time to see if the mother would show up, they brought him home. Bottle fed him kitten replacement, grew like a weed, and very affectionate. We converted a stall in our barn for Ronnie and he lived in captivity for a year until we felt he was old enough to take care of himself. That was a year ago and Ronnie still comes back home here for visits and human food treats :) (he knocks on my son's window) Until you know a raccoon personally, you can't begin to know how smart they are. They know far more than we ever imagined. Glad there are other people like you who help animals in need. Kudos!

Why good bye? I hope it's a happy ending. Very nice and meaningful to me - we have three raccoons that visit us every day!
