Ming Sha Shan - Singing Sand Mountain

From atop a sand dune in Ming Sha Shan of Dun Huang, China I used a telephoto lens to isolate the detail of shadow and light some time after sunrise. Minolta 801si alpha, 300mm lens, Fujichrome Velvia, no filter, colour slightly altered to emphasize the monochromatic appearance of the light. Copyright Peter Skov.

Artist Reply: Thanks Bev. I appreciate the comments. I thought it was pretty incredible myself. Looking through the viewfinder can be the most exciting thing about photography. That and seeing what you saw is what came out on the final image.
