Gotcha! oil, on a 12 by 9 inch, archival canvas panel, was finished December 14, 2004. It is the seventh painting in my series titled Unforgettable. Sheep were a common sight on the reservation in the 1950s, and they continue to play an important part in Navajo life today. This little boy seems to have a firm grasp on the sheep as a friend and playmate, but in addition to being good pets, they are also valued economically for their wool, and ... for the mutton that they provide.
