The Concealed Fate of an Imminent Surrender

This work from my chess collection shows surreal imagery based on my memories of a place in New York City near the East River where we used to play chess. The chess pieces become street lamp type objects as they recede into the distance leading to a hidden face. Alhtough the setting of the piece is based on my recollection, the actual underlying message is about the secret strategies that await us in the game of chess. I represent this by having the hidden face within the pieces staring back at us. Copyright 2004 by imaginative pencil and myself. All rights reserved.
