Almost any collection of materials can become an interesting still life scene. This colored pencil painting consists of items I saw in an antique shop we recently visited. I photographed these items (permission given) and with dramatic lighting added and some selective cropping done, the resulting photograph became the basis for the painting entitled "Knot Fast Work". I was drawn to this scene because of the details within the rope and by the very interesting texture provided by the rusty pulley. This piece was done on Grafix drafting film using Farber-Castell Polychromos pencils. The size of the artwork is 18 X 12 inches.
