This was the illustration for my 2003 Holiday Yule Card, "Bosco and the Yule Faerie".

The dog was my dear old dog, Bosco (it was he who "Waltzing Dog" was named for). The majestic Winter Faerie is holding a lilac cat in her lap (my dear sweet kitty, "Indiana", who passed away the year this card was sent).

Among the snowflakes, I've included a snow-white owl for winter, a chick-a-dee, and 2 golden pears. The faerie is spreading the cold tendrils of Winter across the land...

Rendered in Prismacolor pencils, some prisma pens, and micron pen for outlining, on bristol board, 8" x 10"
