Native to south Texas, the coral bean plant (Erythrina herbacea) has edible leaves and flowers. Fortunately, this young plant was found in a parking lot since most of the plants were scattered all over Goose Island in locations not easily accessed. Goose Island is on the Texas coast between Rockport and Aransas.
