This is a colored pencil painting based on a photograph that I took at a winery in California earlier this summer. As I passed through the tasting area, I saw the empty glasses and bottle of those folks who had just completed their tasting. I knew that this would make a very interesting piece. Especially intriguing is how the background scene is somewhat distorted as seen through the wine glasses. The piece is entitled "Companions" because I couldn't help but wonder if the couple who had just left were husband and wife. The piece is done on Dura-lar polyester film using Farber-Castell Polychromos, Dick Blick, and Marshall pencils. The size of the piece is 8 X 12 inches. I hope that you can envision yourself enjoying a fine wine with someone special in your life.

This is a great drawing, a really interesting snapshot of an ordinary scene that might otherwise be overlooked. I admire your tackling of such complex scenes too!

I'm a sucker for glass effects! Very nice.

Artist Reply: David: thanks so much for your comments. I greatly appreciate them. Glass has a bit of magic to it and as we look through it, we see the world somewhat differently. Not always bad to drift a bit from reality! Best regards, Will

Very nice Will enjoyed your whole porfolio

Artist Reply: Bev: thank you for this very nice comment! I appreciate your taking time to view my work and for taking time to comment. I'm glad that many of my pieces appealed to you. It is very satisfying for any artist to hear that their art appeals to others, not just the person who created it! Thanks again and have a good day. Regards, Will

Well done! I enjoy the distortion by glass and water too. I think you must enjoy the challenge!

Artist Reply: Trish: thank you so much for your nice comments. I do enjoy the challenge, but I'm never sure that it will turn out as I hope. I'm glad that you feel that it did! Thanks again and have a great day. Best regards, Will
